I am grateful you are here!
My name is Guida and I am the author of "I am Grateful". I have been in the Early Childhood Education field for over 30 years and am currently working in a full day Kindergarten classroom.
If you have read my story, with your child, I am extremely Grateful and I hope you both enjoyed it. It is my hope that through my stories, children develop strategies and become better examples as they navigate their way into the world we live in. I hope that you, as a parent, find that my books help your child recognize how important it is to have values in life and practice them on a regular basis. I am grateful that my family, dating all the way back to my grandparents, instilled in me and my siblings how important it is to be grateful for what we have and had back home in Portugal (and trust me when I say it wasn't much) as well as to help those who had less than us. I hope that you and your child enjoy this book and its message as well as have meaningful and constructive conversations about the topics.
If you would like to, scroll down to my contact page and send me an email to let me know what you think of my book. I would love to hear from you! If your child would like to send a message on how they are being grateful, I would love to read it! I love it when my students gift me with their beautiful pictures.
Hello! Welcome.

My books

I am Grateful
I wrote this book years before I decided to publish it. As an educator, I try to have meaningful conversations with my students on the importance of gratitude, other virtues and subjects. We listen and we share our thoughts and experiences. I am blown away, every single day, at how much they have experienced at such a young age. I am grateful for them everyday. Grateful for their ideas, their thoughts, their words, but most of all I am grateful for their undeniable love for the world around them and their desire to share it with us in class.
I decided to write this book as a means to show children that being grateful means showing gratitude for everything as well as everyone they are fortunate to have in their lives.
I wrote the story in the first person to help children feel closer to its meaning. I wanted children to understand the wonder of gratitude and how it helps them grow into healthy and happy contributing members of society.
Adopt a School program

As you know, there are many schools in Toronto and all over Canada that need help. Many students in these schools do not know what it is like to hold or own a story book outside of their educator(s) may have in the classroom.
I am very familiar with that feeling myself, having a very humble upbringing where my parents couldn't afford to purchase books.
I feel it is very important for children to learn and understand the power and value of a story book. Reading and listening to stories, provides them with food for their brain to fuel their imagination and more importantly helps them develop and improve their language as well as their reading skills.
If you agree with me and would like to adopt a needy school by providing students in a kindergarten, grade 1 or grade 2 class with a copy of my book, contact me and I can provide you with a discounted quote based on a bulk order. Email me with your name, name of the school you would like to support, the number of books you'd like to donate and I will return your message as soon as possible.
